Announced at the end of July, the Subaru WRX now comes in its home market. It will available in a new version S4, supplemented by the TSI.
As might be expected when it was announced, the new WRX S4 is none other than the WRX presented last November at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The name change is expected to confirm a more upscale positioning and highlight four strengths of the model. Points that are "Sports Performance", "Safety performance", "smart driving" and "Sophisticated feel".
An important detail also distinguishes this S4 WRX sold in the rest of the world: the closer to the TSI engine. Power is indeed revised 300 hp and torque to 400 Nm (against 275 hp and 350 Nm). It also receives different equipment, such as aid to the EyeSight driving (assistance in maintaining the queue, recognition of the brake lights of other vehicles, adaptive cruise control) or an electric parking brake.
The WRX STI is also available with 308 hp and 400 Nm, and especially manual while the S4 relies on a transmission Lineartronic (CVT) transmission.
