BMW tests and X5 and X5 M are expected to occur in 2013 with sales to start early 2014. The new large SUV of Bavaria has a new grille, new lights, dual exhaust tailpipes and larger and wider than the current generation.
The new BMW X5 will be at 150 pounds less than the current generation thus consuming less fuel. It will be built on the new platform "X for All" with the total weight not exceeding 1,815 pounds, compared with 2,125 the current X5 xDrive30i.
As for the engines. Under the hood, other than the six-cylinder and eight-cylinder engines, which will be improved by consuming less fuel and emitting less CO2, will add 2 four-cylinder engines, one petrol and one diesel 2.0-liter 245 horsepower performance and 349 Nm of torque.
